Gone are the days when people used to wait for the things to happen on its own pace, now things are done as per our pace. Life is all about being the first in this mechanical journey.

Maya, is there in everyone- in you, me and all of us!! We all have trudged the path which Maya walked on somewhere in our lives....been there done that,saw the impact and still lived with it!!
But Maya decided something else, a different turn, will she be able to sail through the storm?
We live in a society where there is no recognition for passion and your dreams are ranked by the society. For most parents, the decision regarding their kid's education, career and even marriage is solely based on the society. And if you dare choose something beyond, you're tagged and become the topic of discussion for years! It has been the way from don't know when and hasn't made a huge difference even today. Yes, there are a few in the dozens who have manged to tear the blinds and move forward to chase their dreams. But what about the others?

Maya is a free-spirited person who wants to break these shackles of the society and want to build the nest of her dreams! Will she make it till the end?

"Beta, log kya kahenge agar tum..." (Kid, what will others say if you...) This is the only phrase that brings cold breeze in the house for every decision you make. Be it your clothing, your sense of humor, your hairstyle, you work timings and even the way you talk, you're judged for everything you do. As if there's nothing else to even care about, people are more interested to know what's happening in your life.
Man, grow up! Peep out of you window and look at the things around you. Everything in the world is changing- the weather, the political scenario, the world economy & much more. But all that wanders in your empty mind is to nook-the-hook inside your neighbor's door! Maya is so much frustrated with these daily taunts on her clothes, friends, hairstyle and her free-spirit! She decides to end her life.....

Why is it so important to judge others rather than letting them be themselves?

If your kid doesn't take up a professional degree or simply if he/she is not pursuing Engineering or Medicine or law then your screwed in the society! If your daughter decides to marry the guy of her choice then your reputation is over! When will people really come out of these myths?

Maya wanted to pursue her passion for arts as a career but her parents were not happy about her leaving her job for her passion. For them art was just a hobby and not a career. Maya was fed-up of explaining the outcomes of these myths to her parents and all she wanted was to talk to someone who could listen to her without being judgmental. She was living two lives daily and found it hard to cope up. Breaking into pieces from inside and she finally decides to put an end to this suffering. She took the knife in her hand and started to pierce it through her veins.....blood started oozing out!

After moments of silence.... there was a knock at the door! She was in a state of shock and scared to walk out of her room! Who could it possibly be at the middle of the night? Her dad woke up and opened the door. It was too dark to see and he switched on the light. As Maya was struggling from the pain of her bleeding wrist and was not in a state to walk out... She decided to stay in her room.

There was a naked man at their door  and he kept saying "Om Namah Shivai, Kuch khane ko dedo" (Chanting the name of Lord Shiva, Can I get something to eat?) Her dad was half-awake and couldn't really understand the whole scenario and thought he might be a thief or a mad person! So, he asked him to leave and closed the door. There was a knock again! That naked man kept saying the same thing and stood right outside their door. The dad got irritated and called her name "Maya kitchen mein dekho kuch khane ko hai kya?"( Maya check for food in the kitchen). His voice was so stern that she ignored her pain ,wrapped a band-aid across the wrist and stepped out of the room. She got some food from the kitchen and they gave it to him. He left immediately after taking the food. While getting off the stairs he murmured something " Ud Jaa" (Fly away) Maya and her dad were both in different worlds mentally so they totally ignored him and went back to their respective rooms. Maya was alive!!!

Sometimes the small steps you take to put an end might be a beginning!

Maya Met Harry!

The next morning her dad brings a talk about marriage! He said to Maya, "You have finished your engineering and having a good job, now it's time for you to get married." Inside her mind was a volcano all set to burst! It was like a checklist that every parents have - Education : tick, Job : tick, marriage : tick, grandchildren: tick & the list if never ending!
Maya was too frustrated with the things around and felt like may be things might change once she gets married and so "She said yes". Her dad shows her a picture of the "man of her dreams" and immediately she felt a connect! They spoke for hours over the phone and agreed to get married. Yes, it might sound funny and unreal but that is how they said yes simply over a phone call!!!

It is rightly said that love is magical and it spells its cast where ever you are!!!

The New Chapter!

Their marriage was just like the fairy tale wedding of Harry and Megan!! And it marked a new beginning in their lives! Harry was more like a friend than a husband with whom she can talk for hours without being judged! Maya shared her passion for art and how unhappy she was with her current job. He supported her to take the baby steps to chase her passion! He motivated her to step out of these shackles and be herself. It was because of him that she enrolled herself in a distant learning programme for visual arts and took her first step for a new beginning.The tiny steps created a pavement to become an Artist!

She recalled the incident of the naked man from the past and the reason why she was alive! "Ud jaa" was not just words of the past and it was the state of her present- Flying high chasing her passion for art and exploring the world of colors.

Everything is life has a reason. Don't give up when things are not in your favor. Wait for the dark clouds to pass and see what the sun shine brings!!!

Maya chose to walk in the path for herself without worrying about the society. She found her prince charming who supported her to take the small steps to chase her dreams. There is a Maya in everyone of us! Don't wait for your prince charming to take the first step. The power lies in you and all you need is to take that first step to become unstoppable.

Have you ever felt more alive than now?

I had to ask this to know if this is the thing that connects us.
Life was so different...so normal....until............ I met you. Everything around me seemed meaningless except u. But ever since our current phase started, i miss u with every tick-tic of the clock, with every lub-dub of the heart, with every twinkle of the star & every time i breathe. The clouds of struggle started making me lose myself into the world of non-existence. 
Change is the harsh reality of life but when it really strikes, its even harsher. 

The fairy tale phase!

Baking for monthly anniversaries

Our marriage was no less than a fairy tale which started with all magical courtship fun, late night Skype calls, Whatsapp chats and exchanging photos & more! Thanks to the technology we could enjoy every bit of our long-distance phase in the best possible way. It was really like a dream come true! Marrying someone who actually existed in your dreams and exactly the way you had imagined every inch of him, yes it happened. 

The initial months were so beautiful and romantic! Mornings were busy as we had to rush for work and days were not normal anymore. Chatting and calling in between meetings was more fun than playing a video game. Waiting for the clock to strike 7 to embrace the existence of our love and exchanging hugs & kisses was like the best time of the entire day. Finally, team-up to make dinner and explore our hands at the kitchen was like an everyday battle. Surprising each other with small gestures, romantic texts, cooking special cuisines etc. and we were falling in love each day!

The best thing about our relationship is that we share everything be it everyday chores, gossips, emotions etc. and there is no Man-Woman stigma attached. We both believe in equality, team work and sharing our load with each other. It was more of a learning phase and getting accustomed to new people and things. We started knowing more about each other's likes and dislikes, habits and hobbies, passion and motivation etc. And we discovered our shared passion of Arts, cooking, writing, and travelling. These 3 things created a much-more intricate and deep passage into each other's heart. We created a list of places to visit and start our travel exploration. The first 2 years of marriage, we visited close to 60 places that includes 12 countries, 23 cities & more. Every trip made us explore something new about each other. It was like unveiling layers from our hearts to get to the real us! Some trips were adventurous, some were relaxing and few were crazy.

Welcome to the challenging phase! 

After 2 years of expedition, we started realizing that its time we need to put our bags somewhere and settle down. We started our research for the ideal place. There were different criteria from both sides to be considered such as distance from our home country, travel time, time difference etc. etc. and the list was long. And we decided on building a saving nest before we proceed further.
So, it all started with running behind our dream and chasing the so-called need of life "Savings". Its very easy to read lots of blogs that talk about saving money and quick ways to build savings. But in reality, its a big challenge to reach your financial goals. 

The journey to build savings started with cutting down on unnecessary stuffs and by that I meant travel! It was the phase of "no-more trips" so that we can save some dollars. We started evaluating our budget, income and expenses, etc. to understand our financial situation. 

On the other hand, the stress to save money covered up our sky like the black clouds. Giving a second thought to every expense we make, working on weekends, cutting down on entertainment costs etc. Things started to change, there was no time for each other. We were more busy on filling the blocks of money and forgetting to spend time together. It felt like we are losing each other and the relationship is fading. The burden of responsibility started taking over and we were too lost in our works that we could hardly talk to each other. 

Although we were chasing the same dream, it was difficult to deal with it on the other end. Initially, we had so much time for each other and now it was gone.We started fighting for petty things, losing control over emotions and not talking for hours. It was like an outbreak of emotional burst that was caused by something else. It was difficult to handle that stress and reality together. 
 I started feeling that we have become like the typical ones who just forget their love with each passing year. That thought kept wandering in my head and I started losing myself. I started looking for a let out to share my pain and I found solace in art. 

And the day finally came when we reached our financial goals and could breathe for a while. He started to do the things which he used to do before. I realized that it was just a phase and things won't change between us. This onerous phase gave us an opportunity to know how we deal with challenges and to unveil another layer. We started to see a different perspective of life that we both carry and how they both lead to the same destination "Unconditional Love".

Tough times may feel worse but they definitely teach something! So, wait for your phase to end to understand what you've learnt.

Coiled around wires...honking machines....some disco lights blinking at you.. red, green, blue,white....everyone panicking around....few homo sapiens walking in white and the palest of all colors...the bright yellow bulb shining like the sun over the head....half awake half sleepy..... The only thought that pops up in your mind in the operation theater.... "Why I had to see this day?"

2100 Miles Away!

On the other end, 2100 miles away I feel strangled between wishes & reality... Not everything you wish can turn into reality!! The very moment I came across this news of my dad's heart surgery... World around me seemed to freeze! With all the boggling thoughts of "why, when, what, how" my mind was no way going to stop its quest.

And I decided, no matter what I would be there. But the ultimate supreme power had something else for me. Still I can't figure out why he made me sit aback with a feeling of helplessness.

The Telepathic Conversation!

I was miles away when I desperately wanted to be with my dad. Everything felt so annoying as I couldn't make it. I felt like talking to you and listening to your heart. But you were in the hospital and there was no way I could talk to you. All I can do is get updates about you every now and then, which was no way sufficient to calm the thunder storms in my brain!

Dear Dad,

Then there were moments of insomnia while you were lost in the world of dreams. I tried to find you in my dreams.... Just to have a glance of you. I wished and badly wished if telepathy could turn into a vision of the present!!

One question kept cropping into my wandering mind... " why we had to see this day?"  Some questions remain unanswered and that is the way of life.

All of a sudden things around me just vanished in a jiffy and I felt numb. And all I am left with is the darkness!!!!! Being a claustrophobic...I was panting & struggling for oxygen. A fear combined with anxiety & all the ludicrous feelings started to dominate over my mind. I feel a sudden chill in the atmosphere and the first thing that striked my mind "OMG!!!Gh...gh..ghost!!"  I started chanting all the mantras I knew ( that is how it happens in all horror movies ;) ). My father had taught this that if you get scared just pray and all your worries will fade away.

In few moments.... I could see something from far away... A ray of light & hope. As it started marching forward, it started to blur my vision and in moments I couldn't see anything. The light was extremely bright and getting exponentially brighter with reducing distance.
 I heard a voice " you can open your eyes now" . It felt like a familiar tone that I had heard before. Trying hard to concentrate on the database of voices in my head, I couldn't recollect so with a feeling of curiosity & eagerness to see the person...I opened my eyes slowly.

Astonished & amazed!!

Two deep intense black balls which had the view of the entire universe..."The Eyes".  Rest all I could see was "blue". It took me few minutes to have a full glance of him. The shining gold revolving chakhra looked as if it was sparkling with fire like a shower of shooting stars. His Majestic persona and charm of his grace, words may not be enough to describe him.

Stunned by his beauty I stood there dumbfound. The first thing that clocked in my mind "Am I dead??!!!" Before I could rephrase my question and ask , he said in a soothing tone " You don't have to die to see me; I am present everywhere you just have to realize that."

I wanted to start my brainstorming session with him as I was locked up with unanswered questions that created a web in my brain. He read my mind just the way he does all the time. He asked me to calm down, before I could speak.

The Reason!

For moments I just stood and listened to his words:

'Everything happens for a reason.'

Sometimes I can tell you the reason but most of the times I leave it to you to discover it. The search for the reason is the goal of your life. You are born to understand the meaning of your life. You cannot run away from anything that has been written in your pages of life. Each one of you have a different purpose in life and different way of living but the goal remains the same.

Anyone can be selfish but not everyone can be selfless. This should be the motto of life.

At this moment you are just stuck in your selfishness. If the same thing happened to someone else not related to you then you would not be in the same state like you are now. Give a thought on this... What kept you sleep deprived for long.

The Curious Question!

Why your father had to see this day...this is what you wanted to know? So here goes the answer. But before I unveil your answer I would like to tell you why I had come.

Sometimes people feel lost in darkness and I guide them through a ray of light but its up to them to follow the light or get scared of it.

When you were lost I guided you, but think how you reacted towards it. You could only think negative when I wanted to show you a path out of your trouble. You thought I was a ghost. This is the actual problem with everyone. Most of you have stopped trusting.

Your father had the faith but at times of testing even he started blaming me instead of realizing the reason. You should always remember the purpose of your life. You should have faith in me and the rituals but that is not your goal.

Your father has forgotten his goal just because he was tested at unfavorable situations. He lived the life following the goal of life till he got the result of his test. He was always selfless and thought of his family before his own wishes. The family had boundaries and enclosed with parents & siblings. Since all his selfless love went in vain he forgot about his own family. 

Your mother who has sacrificed all her wishes just for the sake of her family and never gave a thought on what she really likes. The selfless love of your mother which she failed to show could never reach your father's vision. He stopped believing in selfless love and got diverted towards selfishness.

I guided him many times but just like you he also saw it as negativity. Since he had got married and his family is complete with two children, his goal should be to love them the same way he loved his family. 

His responsibilities towards his own family should be the priority. This doesn't mean family should be the only priority. I wont say you should stop praying. It will guide you when you are lost and searching for a solution to your answers. It will also help you to find the path towards your ultimate destination.

There are few extra responsibilities towards your mother which your father had never given importance to. This test if for him to understand and analyze what is his goal and where is he lagging.

Suddenly I felt a little pain as if something heavy had fallen over me. My husband's leg crossed over mine and open my eyes, I was in my bed lying with my husband. A dream it was ....an everlasting dream!!!!

The clock strikes five...and the day begins with a jive!!
Are you amongst the crowd of thousands who start their daily routine even before the sun kisses good morning and travel back home after the sun has gone inside its cozy blanket? Do you also fall in the category of those running in the morning crowd to reach the final destination(work place) on time to escape from the jingle bell song that your boss might sing in the morning?
           I used to wonder why these people are rushing and if everyone is in a hurry to catch their flights. But after falling in the same trap like most people, when your work place is like miles away from home and you have the pressure to reach on time...."the run for money" marathon begins.
         Sometimes i feel am i the only one buying stress with this job. I have heard many people saying "money can fetch you anything".  Now i understood the irony behind it. We take all the pain for this "money";the money which we get at the stake of time with our loved ones, proper food intake and most importantly ourselves. We keep our true self and interests at stake for the sake of money.
      But have you ever wondered what is the invisible combo package we get along with this money?? Oh yeah! Its a combi pack.....  This money comes with an interesting package of mental stress, high blood pressure and the worst is depression along with heart attacks.
           Seriously we buy life risk for what?? You would have dreamt of chasing your dreams with this money but did you ever gave a thought that running in this race you have lost your self and your dream already.           Of course money is just one of the factors , we love the position and power that comes along with the job. Gone are the days when job meant only for money to feed the family. Today job is seen as a part of yourself....in short your job defines you(obviously not for everyone ;) dont worry if your job is nightmare).
Now people have big aspirations to make their life meaningful which is actually good. Our parents chose to go for job to make our lives meaningful but today we are more bothered to stand out in the crowd. Where are we really heading to? Life is now a statement full of bafflement to be the one you want or the person who the world wants to see.

What is Abstract Art?

DIY Abstract Print Making:

Introduction:

Abstract art looks complicated to a normal eye but it is full of intricacies and out of the box imaginative ideas to the artistic eyes. I always loved abstract art more than any other form as it involves more creativity and eye for details. Print making is a wonderful and interesting art invented by the great artist Daniel Hopfer. 
This artwork is a combination of printmaking and abstract art. 

Here's a simple and easy to begin your first printmaking abstract art.

Materials Required:

Let's begin with the materials you would need to make your first printmaking abstract art. Most of the things can be found at home or you can buy at a nearby shop or online.

List of materials required:

1. Water
2. Nail paints
3.Dry cloth
4.Cardboard
5.Waste bucket

The DIY Process:

Step1: Take a waste bucket which is of no use to you as the nail paint may sometime stick to the bucket as well. Fill the bucket with 3/4th water. 

Step2: Pick your favorite colors of nail paint from your nail paint treasure box . Keep it ready on your work desk.

Step 3: One by one sprinkle on the water surface. You will notice that the colors doesn't sink in water and instead they float due to their less density than H2O (water).

Step4: After you are done with sprinkling of colors. Pick your stuff(coffee mug,canvas,wine bottle,sugar jar etc) that you want to give a new look to and dip it in water for few seconds and take it out.

Step5: You will notice that the print got transferred to the stuff from water. 
Keep your stuff on the cardboard to let it dry.You can wipe out the water dipping using a dry cloth. Give it some time to dry. Finally your print is ready.

Met you when i was in need of an embrace to blew away the unhealed pains. You came from somewhere and turned my world upside down.
                                                                          The places where i traversed alone, you gave it a new ambiance by holding my hand and taking me to all those place to fill your memories. I never felt aloof from the day we met. Wherever i go, you accompanied me and made me feel over the moon. You made a promise taking my trembling hands in your rock-solid hands to be with me for eternal. You lived your words and clarified the myth in my baffled mind : "promises are meant to be broken". It started from being you and me into a wonderful feeling "us".
                                                            All the while this journey of being one has been impeccable and exemplary. There wasn't a single day which started without a heart-melting true love's kiss and not even a night that ended without your magical hug which can heal any wound.May be this is the reason why i felt something was missing in life,i was waiting for some magic to happen without actually knowing what it was . And it was you, a companion who would walk along to bear all my tantrums and still at the end of day would kiss my forehead and say "I love you".
                       Today when i am here and you are away, suddenly i feel outraged like all the pain has returned. I feel so incomplete without you. This day without you, made me understand how much i am addicted to you. I always thought how can any person become addiction for the other. But now when i am riding the same horse, i realize what true love is. It is so fascinating to think how love changes the entire person in you and doesn't even give a chance to know when it happened.
                       My heart feels like a half-empty glass and the other half filled with your memories. What have you done to this carefree soul which used to wander like nomads and now it wants to settle down in an Oasis of dreams.
